The area's biggest music festival, has been free to everyone for 29 years. Located in the heart of the Midwest with it's unique venue, the bandshell, amazing music, and a long list of amazing artists.
This project takes you on a behind-the-scenes journey throughout all of the history and untold stories from the people who made it happen.
July 4th, 2020 was supposed to be the 30th anniversary of Saturday in the Park. What does this mean for the festival's future and live events that keep Sioux City thriving.
Community Without Unity
In the midst of the COVID 19 pandemic of 2020, a spotlight is shown on the outbreak in Sioux City, Iowa where the festival is held. With all of the hospitals at max capacity and numbers on the rise what's next?
Has a divisive time split the people of such a strong community? Has a lack of willingness to comply with standards spread the virus? How do we move forward and get through tough times apart... together?
